In August 2021, a group of families, many of whom lived in Edwardsburg, began praying about planting a church in the community. From August 2021 until September 2022, they prayerfully met every Wednesday for Bible study and to consider the Lord’s will for an additional church in Edwardsburg. As the group added in number, the families appointed Elders, incorporated a church body and started planning an official start date.
In September 2022, we began meeting at the Edwardsburg KFG office building (corner of M-62 and May St.) on Sunday mornings for worship, as well as continuing our discipleship meetings on Wednesday nights. For the first four months, our Sunday morning teaching was provided by elder-qualified men in our church.
In January 2023, two retired pastors from the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) offered to mentor us and provide the majority of the teaching on Sunday mornings.
After much consideration, we decided to join the EFCA in March 2023. One of the retired pastors was also instrumental in helping us interview candidates and eventually hire a teaching pastor, Gebriell Sierra, who joined us in March 2024.

Our founding group has been very intentional about developing our church “DNA,” which is based on the following core values:
